medical career when my patients asked \u201cWhat else do you have to offer besides a prescription\u201d, unfortunately, my answer came up short.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-77b34ffe elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"77b34ffe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>So I went back to school and discovered the world of integrative holistic medicine and then the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Institute of Functional Medicine<\/span><\/strong>. This was a game changer for me. I learned that about 70% of chronic illnesses have a lifestyle component.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-74389f42 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"74389f42\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>What started out as a way to better serve my patients became the ticket to my greater health as well (in addition to my husband\u2019s)! You see, I\u2019ve also been on a heath journey.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-36d232ed elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"36d232ed\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I was struggling with a host of issues including IBS and chronic fatigue. Then muscle tenderness and general malaise. Clearly something was wrong and I was going down the wrong path. I was among the \u201cwalking wounded\u201d &#8211; kept working, raising a family and pushing through.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9f852fa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9f852fa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Once I started applying the principles of integrative functional medicine myself, my energy and symptoms greatly improved.
